Transcribe your own audio

Pick a Danish audio file (MP3, M4A, WAV, most MP4 video too) and get a word-synced karaoke transcript with your account's translations. Playback happens entirely in your own browser.

Privacy: the file is never uploaded for storage. Audio is sent in chunks for transcription only and discarded the moment it is processed; nothing is written to disk. Transcription counts against your daily allowance (30 minutes a day). For content you legitimately have, only.

This tool needs a Listening Lab subscription (transcription runs on your daily allowance, 30 minutes a day).

Where do the audio files come from?

  • DR podcasts (DR Lyd) · Podcast episodes are ordinary public MP3s. Use any podcast app with downloads (Apple Podcasts, AntennaPod), search the show, download an episode and pick the file here. The most-listened shows are already transcribed in the library above.
  • Your own recordings · Class recordings from language school, conversations with a language partner, voice messages: upload them directly.
  • DR TV · YouTube · No download needed. DR TV video is copy-protected and should not be ripped; just play it on dr.dk with the extension on, and the official subtitles are read instantly for free. Same for YouTube: the extension reads the video's own captions.
